Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is holding a press conference in Auckland to speak about New Zealand's new partnership with France.

Ardern announced on Wednesday she and French President Emmanuel Macron will bring together technology companies at a meeting in Paris next month to address the spread of violent extremism on social media.

It comes after the man accused of killing 50 people at two mosques in Christchurch on March 15 filmed the attack using a Facebook livestream.

Ardern said in the wake of the attacks, New Zealanders are "united in common purpose to ensure such attacks never occur again".
