As it happened: Speaker Trevor Mallard addresses 'rapist' in Parliament comments

House Speaker Trevor Mallard is holding a press conference addressing comments he made about a "serial sexual offender" potentially still working in Parliament.

His comments came after a review into bullying and harassment in Parliament revealed on Tuesday instances of sexual harassment and assault.

Mallard told RNZ on Wednesday that the assault could constitute rape and that the offender may still work in Parliament.

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters said the offender is not an MP or a parliamentary staffer.
