Labour MP Tāmati Coffey holds baby son Tūtānekai while asking questions in Parliament

Labour MP Tāmati Coffey's baby son Tūtānekai Smith-Coffey has made another appearance in Parliament, this time in the arms of his dad.

Coffey held his baby boy during question time on Thursday.

"Super happy moment @NZParliament today [Thursday] seeing our family-friendly Parliament at work," Labour list MP Marja Lubeck said on Twitter.

The announcement of the birth of Coffey's son came in July. He and his husband Tim Smith said at the time they were "overwhelmed at the miracle of life".

The surrogate mother was a friend of a friend, Coffey has previously explained, and Smith is the biological father of the baby.

Their son first made an appearance in Parliament in August, joining Trevor Mallard in the Speaker's seat.

Coffey first revealed the couple was expecting at Auckland's Big Gay Out earlier this year.
