The Justice Minister's Twitter name was changed to "Andrew Daddy Thicc Snacc Little" briefly, prompting confusion online - but it's intentional.

A spokesperson for Andrew Little told Newshub the name-change was on purpose, after ZM radio host Vaughan Smith jokingly granted the minister the new title on-air.

The radio crew had been discussing a letter from the Ministry of Justice on Thursday and the conversation evolved into a dialogue about the Justice Minister.

"Daddy's got a beard...," Smith said, referring to Little. "Andrew Little is a thicc snacc, a daddy thicc snacc... You're a thick snack with two C's."

He added, "Daddy might be 'Little' in name but he's big in nature."

On Twitter, Smith wrote to Little saying, "Mornin' Daddy Thicc Snacc..."

The Justice Minister replied, "Mornin'," with a wink-face emoji.

It sparked confusion on social media, with some tweeting: "What's going on?"

"I don't know what's going on... but I fear Andrew Little has gone too far with the anger management classes," another joked.

Little's spokesperson said the change is just a bit of fun and is temporary.

If you're wondering, 'Thicc' is a slang term for a full-figured body, while 'Snacc' and 'Daddy' refers to someone who's attractive, according to Urban Dictionary.

It's not the first time the Justice Minister's physical appearance has been a talking point.

In December last year an image circulated on Twitter of a model who bore an uncanny resemblance to the minister.

And in 2016, the artist behind a nude carpet portrait of John Key created a full-frontal rug version of the then-Labour leader.

The dramatic piece, with a bold red background, showed a nude and well-defined Mr Little with his arms folded.
