As it happened: Jacinda Ardern, Grant Robertson's update on COVID-19 crisis

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Finance Minister Grant Robertson are addressing the nation as New Zealand prepares a full-scale lockdown on Wednesday night.

From 11:59pm, New Zealand will be in lockdown for at least four weeks in an attempt to minimise the spread of the virus, which has infected over 150 people in New Zealand.

The lockdown means people must remain indoors, non-essential businesses will close, schools are shut, and travel is severely limited.

The Prime Minister is expected to provide an update on New Zealand's preparations for the lockdown, and Robertson to discuss further measures to ensure economic stability for the country.
