Livestream: PM Jacinda Ardern giving update on New Zealand's coronavirus cases

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has provided updates on New Zealand's COVID-19 outbreak following the confirmation of a third case.

The media briefing, held in Auckland, began at 10:45am on Thursday.

Speaking to The AM Show on Thursday morning, Health Minister Dr David Clark said the latest case of the novel coronavirus was confirmed overnight.

The person is not the partner of the woman confirmed as New Zealand's second case on Wednesday. The partner's test results are expected on Thursday.

The infected woman has children who attend Westlake Boys and Westlake Girls High in Auckland. Both of the schools have been contacted and are on high alert.

"This is an unrelated case but I don't have other specific details to hand at this stage. There will be a media update later today," Dr Clark reiterated.

This livestream has now finished.
