Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is providing an update from the Beehive after her meeting with the COVID-19 Cabinet Committee.

The group of ministers plan to meet every Wednesday to discuss the Government's response to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, which has so far officially infected five Kiwis.

It comes as Australia has implemented a travel ban on Italy and South Korea and the Government will be facing questions as the Opposition urges them to follow suit.

The Government currently has a travel ban on China and Iran but only restrictions on travellers from South Korea and northern Italy to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival.

The Ministry of Health confirmed on Wednesday that for a fourth consecutive day, there have been no additional confirmed cases and the number of probable cases remains two.
