Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has spoken to reporters in Christchurch ahead of the first anniversary of the March 15 shootings, as well as New Zealand's coronavirus response.
A memorial will be held on Sunday to commemorate the mosque shooting tragedy in which 51 people died.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in New Zealand stands at five. COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation on Thursday and the US closed its borders to all of Europe apart from the UK.
