The COVID-19 Epidemic Response Committee is hearing from Police Commissioner Andrew Coster, after police cracked down on lockdown rule breakers, prosecuting more than 80 people over ANZAC weekend.

The committee will also hear from Sir Peter Gluckman, chief science advisor to the Prime Minister from 2009 to 2018, as well as Auckland City Mission chief executive Chris Farrelly, and Dr Ang Jury, chief executive of Women's Refuge.

The Epidemic Response Committee is a group of 11 MPs, the majority of whom are in Opposition, who meet via videoconference with the purpose of holding the Government to account on its coronavirus response.

National leader Simon Bridges chairs the committee, and is joined by four other National MPs, three Labour MPs, one Green Party MP, one New Zealand First MP, and permanent member David Seymour, leader of the ACT Party.
