Simon Bridges will speak to media from Parliament at 3pm on Friday.
It marks the first time he's spoken publicly since conceding the National Party leadership to Bay of Plenty MP Todd Muller.
His deputy Paula Bennett was replaced by Auckland Central MP Nikki Kaye.
Ahead of a vote at an emergency caucus meeting today, Bridges said he was confident he'd earn the 28 votes required to retain leadership of the party.
