Health Minister Chris Hipkins held a press conference about the COVID-19 patient data leak.
National MP Hamish Walker admitted earlier on Tuesday evening he passed on the information to media outlets after former National Party president Michelle Boag first received the data and sent it to him.
Hipkins announced an investigation into the breach on Monday, warning "there will be consequences" for the leaked information.
