Poll: Who should be the next National Party leader?

In an unprecedented move, Todd Muller has announced his resignation as the leader of the National Party.

In a statement released on Tuesday morning, Muller said the role had taken a "heavy toll on me personally and on my family and this has become untenable from a health perspective".

It comes 67 days before the election and just 53 days after Muller rolled former leader Simon Bridges.

The spotlight is now firmly fixed on which MP will take the top job ahead of the election on September 19.

Who should be the next National Party leader? The final results are below.
