Jacinda Ardern, James Shaw respond to Climate Change Commission's draft advice

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Minister for Climate Change James Shaw are responding to the Climate Change Commission's draft advice.

The plan, released on Sunday, shows what New Zealand needs to do to slash our emissions to meet our targets.

Commission chair Dr Rod Carr says this requires "transformational and lasting change".

"The good news is that our analysis shows there are technically achievable, economically affordable and socially acceptable paths for Aotearoa to take," he says.

"But the Government must move faster - and support business, agriculture and community to do the same."

Ardern and Shaw are expected to speak at 3pm. App users - watch here.
