Outgoing National MP Nick Smith is giving his valedictory speech in Parliament.
Smith announced his retirement last week after more than 30 years of service. He also revealed there's an inquiry underway into a "verbal altercation" in his office last year.
He is expected to start speaking at about 4:30pm.
