It comes after the Government mandated COVID-19 vaccinations for all teachers and support staff, as well as high-risk healthcare workers, who now join managed isolation and border workers.
The Ministry of Health registered 35 new cases of COVID-19 in the community on Monday, all in Auckland, after reporting 60 cases on Sunday, 34 on Saturday and 44 on Friday.
Auckland is to remain in alert level 3 until Cabinet's review next week, while Northland and parts of Waikato are set to shift down to alert level 2 on Friday if cases remain low.
