COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins is holding an impromptu press conference at the Beehive to make an announcement on Northland's COVID-19 alert level.
Northland is currently at level 2. It shifted down from alert level 3 two weeks ago on October 19, following a lockdown sparked by two women who travelled from Auckland.
The Ministry of Health registered one new case of COVID-19 in Northland on Tuesday, after reporting one on Monday, and two on Sunday.
Some new locations of interest in Kaitaia have appeared on the Ministry of Health website.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is currently in Northland.
