It comes just a week before the whole of New Zealand shifts to the new COVID Protection Framework, or 'traffic light' system, to replace the alert levels. Freedoms will then be determined by vaccine certificates.
The Government has so far mandated COVID-19 vaccination for about 40 percent of the workforce. The latest Ministry of Health data shows 84 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated.
