Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is joined by Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield to provide an update on the COVID-19 Delta outbreak, including an alert level decision for Waikato.
Auckland and parts of Waikato - Hamilton, Waipa, Ōtorohanga, Raglan, Te Kauwhata, Huntly, Ngāruawāhia, and Waitomo, including Te Kuiti - are currently at alert level 3, step 2.
Waikato wasn't included in last week's alert level update. Ardern said the region's status was "due to be considered" on November 15.
The Ministry of Health reported seven new cases in Waikato on Monday. Three of the cases were from Ōtorohanga, two from Hamilton, one from Kawhia, and one from Huntly. Five of the cases were linked.
Ministry of Health data shows 79 percent of eligible people in Waikato are vaccinated, while 89 percent have had at least one dose.
