Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is going head-to-head for the first time in Parliament with new Opposition leader Christopher Luxon.

Luxon, a first-term MP and former CEO of Air New Zealand, was elected National Party leader last week after Judith Collins was ousted by the caucus in a vote of no confidence.

Luxon is the fifth National Party leader to go up against Ardern.

He said he was "fired up and ready to go" ahead of their first face-off.
