Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is at the Beehive in Wellington giving a post-Cabinet update on the COVID-19 Delta outbreak.
It comes after New Zealanders experienced their first weekend in the new COVID Protection Framework, or 'traffic light' system, which has permanently replaced the alert levels.
Freedoms are now determined by vaccination status and gathering limits depending on which level of the traffic light system a region is at.
COVID-19 is spreading across the country, with cases now detected in Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Whanganui, Canterbury, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Nelson and Bay of Plenty.
The latest Ministry of Health data shows 88 percent of the eligible population is fully vaccinated.
