Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is speaking in Auckland after announcing sweeping changes to COVID-19 restrictions.
From this weekend, outdoor gathering limits will be scrapped and indoor gathering limits will increase from 100 to 200 under the 'red' setting of the traffic light system, while QR code scanning will no longer be mandatory.
In addition, COVID-19 vaccine passes will end from April 4 and mandates will be narrowed to only include health, disability and aged care workers, as well as prison and border staff.
