COVID-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins is giving an update on the Government's coronavirus traffic light restrictions.
Hipkins will announce if New Zealand can shift to the less restrictive orange setting, which would end indoor capacity limits as well as the requirement for hospitality guests to be seated and separated.
Masks would still be required in many public indoor settings at orange.
The Ministry of Health registered more than 9000 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, with a seven day rolling average of 12,785. A further 13 deaths were reported.
The 11 millionth COVID-19 vaccination was administered on Tuesday.
