Three members of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's international travel delegation test positive for COVID-19

Three members of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's international travel delegation have tested positive for COVID-19 however all three were weak positives most likely caused by historical infections.

The tests were taken on Monday night local time, as an entry requirement to enter Singapore's official Presidential residence, The Istana, and as a requirement for entry into Japan.

The Prime Minister confirmed in an Instagram post that she tested negative.

The weak positives mean the members of the delegation who tested positive are not currently classed as COVID-19 cases so there is no need for them to self-isolate. However, Japan's strict COVID-19 requirements mean they will not be able to continue on to Tokyo.

The members of the delegation who tested positive include two of the Prime Minister's business delegation and one Defence Force air crew member.
