New Police Minister Chris Hipkins and Police Commissioner Andrew Coster are facing MPs at a Select Committee in Parliament on Thursday morning.

Hipkins only became the Police Minister two weeks ago after Poto Williams was removed from the portfolio. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern explained that decision by saying the "focus" of the role had changed amid concerns about crime and gang activity in Auckland.
