Minister of Social Development and Employment Carmel Sepuloni is responding to the National Party's new policy for young beneficiaries.
National leader Christopher Luxon threatened earlier on Sunday there would be "consequences" and "sanctions" for young unemployed beneficiaries if his party got into Government.
He proposed giving under-25s who have been on the Jobseeker benefit for more than three months a job coach and an individualised plan to help them get back into work.
