Kiwi Uighur man fears family in Xinjiang will be thrown in prison or concentration camp if he tries contacting them

In 2019, Newshub Nation reported on the story of Shawudun Abdulgofur - a Uighur Muslim in New Zealand since 2010.

He was desperate for news of his mother and three brothers, who are in Xinjiang.

Three years later, and just days after a UN report said China may have committed crimes against humanity in Xinjiang, Shawudun again spoke to Newshub Nation - telling of how he still couldn't contact his family over fears they'd be imprisoned.
