Te Wiki o te reo Māori is being celebrated throughout the country this week, including in Wellington, where thousands came together on Wednesday to commemorate 50 years since the Māori language petition was delivered to Parliament.
Māori activist and artist Tame Iti spoke to AM on Friday morning about the revitalisation of te reo Māori across New Zealand in the decades since.
