Paul Eagle returns to Parliament after Wellington mayoral defeat, stays mum on whether he'll run for MP again

Labour MP Paul Eagle has returned to Parliament after losing the Wellington mayoralty.

Eagle, the Rongotai MP, was seen as a frontrunner for the capital's top job, but failed to seal the deal. Final results show Eagle came in third behind Tory Whanau and Andy Foster.

He was back at Parliament on Monday for the first sitting block since the local election day.

Newshub spoke to him outside Defence House and asked if he would be standing at next year's election to be MP again after his mayoral defeat.

Watch it above.
