Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Police Minister Chris Hipkins are addressing media following a meeting of Cabinet.
Cabinet was expected to discuss measures to crack down on youth and retail crime. Pressure has been building on the Government since the stabbing of a dairy worker in Auckland last week.
She's also likely to address concern raised by constitutional experts about the use of entrenchment within Three Waters legislation. Ardern said earlier that such concerns are "legitimate".
