Chris Hipkins has been sworn in as New Zealand's 41st Prime Minister.
It follows the resignation of Jacinda Ardern on Wednesday morning.
Carmel Sepuloni has also been sworn in as deputy Prime Minister at a ceremony at Government House.
Hipkins said it was the "biggest privilege and responsibility of my life".
"I am energised and excited by the challenges that lie ahead. The Deputy Prime Minister and I both take today's appointments very seriously."
Sepuloni also thanked the Governor-General.
"Prime Minister, congratulations on your well-deserved appointment, thank you for the trust you have placed in me, thank you for honouring me, my family and our Pasifika community through this appointment."
