Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has ended his first full day in Waitangi by heading out into the harbour on a waka.
He rolled up his pants, slathered on sunscreen and was helped out onto a waka full of tamariki.
Asked afterwards if his biceps were up to it, he answered: "Piece of cake".
But he then admitted there were a few struggles and he'd need to brush up on the actions and words.
"Never been the most coordinated person," he said.
