Waitangi Day: Prime Minister, Governor General, MPs attend dawn service on treaty grounds

The Prime Minister, the Governor-General, the Chief Justice and MPs have spoken at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds dawn service.

Hundreds gathered on the grounds for the ceremony, 183 years on since the Treaty of Waitangi was signed.

Political leaders from different parties spoke, including James Shaw and David Seymour. Dr Shane Reti spoke for the National Party.
