Coalition agreement: Newshub's 'Coalition Cauli' officially outlasts negotiations as signing ceremony set to take place

Breaking news: a cauliflower, affectionately dubbed 'the Coalition Cauli' by Newshub, has outlasted coalition negotiations between the National Party, ACT and New Zealand First.

The cauliflower was first purchased 20 days ago when negotiations began: since then, it has gained a very dapper top hat - and not-so-flash black spots - but is still standing strong despite some drooping and oxidation.

As of Friday, the esteemed vegetable has officially outlasted the talks between the three parties, with their leaders - incoming Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, David Seymour, and Winston Peters respectively - at last confirming on Thursday that negotiations had concluded after 20 days.

On Thursday night, Newshub was told that National and ACT's boards had reviewed and signed off on their deals, while New Zealand First was also close to giving its stamp of approval.

A signing ceremony and press conference with all three leaders is expected to take place at 11am. Newshub will take that live on newshub.co.nz and on Three from 10:55am.
