The festive season is underway and many Kiwis might be letting lose at their Christmas parties, but Labour leader Chris Hipkins has revealed he can't.
The reason is because he's getting his wisdom teeth removed.
Hipkins was appearing on AM on Wednesday morning for his usual weekly interview.
At the end of the interview hosted by Amanda Gillies, she asked Hipkins if he had got up to "any mischief at your Christmas party?"
"Well actually there's a Christmas party coming up next week, which I'm quite looking forward to, although I'm having my wisdom teeth removed the next day, so I'll have to be a little bit well-behaved," he replied.
Gillies chipped in suggesting he could "take some of that wisdom teeth drug beforehand and God knows what could happen," leaving Hipkins and her fellow AM hosts in hysterics.
