Jenna Lynch analysis: Greens co-leadership - Chlöe Swarbrick weighing options, could run uncontested

ANALYSIS: Newshub has been told Chlöe Swarbrick is currently weighing up everything and considering running for the Greens co-leadership.

If she does decide she wants the job, given her profile and her standing in caucus, it seems as though she would be running uncontested for that role. So it's really a matter of whether or not she wants it.

If Swarbrick decided not to go for it, the Greens have a tougher choice. They have a very fresh-faced caucus with nine of their 15 MPs being part of the newbie intake of 2023.

The most obvious contenders among the most experienced would be former associate Transport Minister Julie Anne Genter or current assistant speaker Teanau Tuiono.

Newshub has been told we'll know which way Swarbrick decides to go by the end of the week.
