First public appearance as married couple for Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Prince's Charles birthday

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's have made their first public appearance as a married couple at Prince Charles' 70th birthday celebrations - but an unlikely intruder stole the show. 

The newlyweds put their honeymoon on hold to join the party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday. 

Prince Harry gave a speech for his father, but as he was speaking, a bee got in the way, buzzing around and causing him to interrupt his speech, the Daily Telegraph reports.

"Sorry, that bee really got me," he says.

His new wife Meghan and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall laughed at the the unlikely intruders appearance.

The Prince spoke highly of his father saying, "It is your selfless drive to affect change, whether that is to improve the lives of those who are on the wrong path, to save an important piece of our national heritage or to protect a particular species under threat, which William and I draw inspiration from every day."

Around 6500 guests were at the Buckingham Palace gardens to pay homage to Prince Charles, including a number form British emergency services and some of his military affiliations.
