Where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will live happily ever after

  • 23/05/2018

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be breathing a sigh of relief now the wedding is over, but they may soon be stressing about moving.

According to reports, the pair will soon be moving into the huge 21-room apartment 1 at Kensington Palace.

Once they're there, Prince William and Kate Middleton won't be far away - they're based across the corridor in the 22-room apartment 1A.

Like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before them, Markle and Prince Harry had been residing on the palace grounds in Nottingham Cottage before the wedding.

Known as Notts Cott, the house is small for a royal - only two bedrooms and one bathroom, with ceilings so low Prince William is said to have had to stoop to avoid hitting his head on them.

Apartment 1 is expected to have no such issues, and is even in the process of getting a new roof. Suspiciously, the renovations only began late in 2017 - just before the pair's engagement was announced.

The newlyweds are part of a cluster of other royals at the palace, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, and two of the Queen's cousins all living on the Palace grounds.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were living in apartment 1, but they moved out in November- perhaps to make way for the happy couple?
