Sanchez is one of the key Pumas players at this tournament, his third World Cup.

He made his international debut for Argentina in 2010 against Uruguay and took over from Felipe Contepomi as his nation's highest scorer in 2018, during a Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks.

Unlike most of his teammates, Sanchez is not a member of the Jaguares Super Rugby team, but currently plays for Stade Francais in France.

He was previously part of the South African-based Pampas XV, before stints with Bordeaux and Toulon in the French Top 14 competition.
