  • 04/04/2019

Born: February 31, 1991 in Rangiora, New Zealand

Position: Lock forward

Club: Chiefs (heading to Japan in 2020)

Height: 2.04m

Weight: 121kg

Caps: 77

When will he play? Brodie says final pool game, but the selectors are leaning towards quarter-finals.

Widely regarded as the best forward in world rugby, Retallick will be frothing at the mouth to showcase his skillset in Japan - once he heals from a shoulder injury.

The Chiefs powerhouse backed up a 2014 World Rugby Player of the Year award, starring for the All Blacks at the World Cup in England.

He's had a stop-go last 18 months, with numerous injuries and a personal tragedy limiting his time in the black jersey.

The All Blacks will need Retallick firing to win the tournament - he is a difference-maker.
