The playmaker holds the key to Scotland's success in Japan. He's like a pest, with his high-risk play, slick passing and pace off the mark.

On defence, he's very good at reading plays and is known for his ability to sniff out an intercept try.

Following an instrumental Man-of-the-Match performance in Scotland's historic victory  against Australia in Sydney, Russell was called up to the Lions squad for the latter part of the 2017 tour of New Zealand.

Russell made a brief mid-week appearance during the 31-31 draw with the Hurricanes.

In 46 tests for his country, Russell has scored five tries, 32 conversions and 16 penalties for a total of 137 points.
