Father Nick Youngs also played halfback for Leicester and England, and Ben made his league debut for the club in 2007, as a 17-year-old.

He has since helped Tigers to three premiership titles. Youngs represented England U23 in both the 2008 and 2009 IRB world junior championship finals, losing both to New Zealand.

He debuted for England as a replacement on the wing against Scotland in 2010, and has played in the 2011 and 2015 World Cup campaigns. Although selected for the 2017 Lions tour of New Zealand, he withdrew for family reasons.
