Rugby World Cup 2019: The final in pictures

The Rugby World Cup has been won by the Springboks following a stunning 32-12 vivtory over England in Yokohama.

It was an enthralling 80 minutes, dominated by big hits and box kicks, which finally broke open with a late South African surge.

It's another four year wait for the Poms - but the Springboks can celebrate their victory - a victory that means more to the country than just a world cup win.

Here are some of the moments caught on camera during a wonderful evening in Japan.

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus puts the final touches on gameplan.
A confident Owen Farrell leads his England side out to battle.
Eddie Jones was pensive from the outset - almost like he knew his fate.
South Africa peppered England's back three right from the start.
England lost key prop Kyle Sinckler after just four minutes.
But the Springboks suffered two early injuries themselves.
The England scrum copped a hiding early doors.
Prompting some serious questions from Farrell to referee Jerome Garces.
Handre Pollard shook off an early miss to dominate with his boot.
An English press showing concern.
Try as they might, the English attack was repelled by brutal defence.
But the boot of Owen Farrell drew them level.
Faf De Klerk terrorised England with his box kicking.
But the English support was loud throughout the first half despite the scoreline.
Another dominant scrum gave Pollard a chance to give the Boks a six-point lead.
He obliged.
England fought their way back to within six points midway through the second half.
But ill discipline kept the Boks in front.
Until winger Makazole Mapimpi broke the game open with 15 minutes to play.
A desperate England threw all they had at the Boks.
But Cheslin Kolbe scooped on a mistake and ran away to score the match-winner.
The Boks knew the Webb Ellis Cup was theirs.
And so did the English fans.
It meant early celebrations for Boks supporters.
And a sense of reality for the Poms.
Handre Pollard slammed the ball into touch to seal the deal.
It's okay mate - at least you won the Cricket World Cup - sort of.
There will be plenty more World Cups in Tom Curry's future - just don't tell him that right now.
