Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Rugby World Cup pool game between England and Argentina at Marseille's Stade Velodrome.

As the top-ranked teams in Pool D, these two rivals meet early in a match-up that should decide who advances to the quarter-finals with the easiest draw.

That's on paper, but the reality is neither team bring sparkling form into the tournament, with England falling to a historic loss to Fiji in their final hitout. The Pumas edged Australia during the Rugby Championship and ran over Spain 62-3 in their World Cup warm-up.

That Fijian defeat saw the English slide down the world rankings to eighth, while Argentina are two spots higher, and their pool contains the giantkilling potential of Japan and Samoa, so victory here is vital for both teams.

England have dominated this rivalry, winning 19 of their 25 previous meetings, but Argentina emerged on top 30-29 last November at Twickenham.

Join us at 7am Sunday for kickoff.
