Rugby World Cup: Footage shows moment Springboks player sparks scuffle with England

Spidercam footage has provided insight into what instigated an altercation between Willie le Roux and Owen Farrell at the end of South Africa's World Cup semi-final win over England.

As the final whistle sounds, England's Farrell and half-back Danny Care get into a scuffle with Springboks fullback le Roux, but a lack of camera angles failed to provide a reason for tensions reaching boiling point.

But the release of overhead footage in the final moments before and after the final whistle, depicts Willie Le Roux antagonising the English players.

The South African runs towards the two devastated Englishmen and begins first-pumping and carrying on with over-the-top celebrations, which infuriates Farrell and Care, causing a brawl.

Le Roux has understandably come under fire with one English fan calling his actions "classless".

However, there are always two sides to every story.

England has been renowned for their overzealous celebrations over the last few years, which was evident at times during their World Cup semi-final.

So maybe it was le Roux just giving the English team a little taste of their own medicine.
