There's been another winning performance from New Zealand's heading dog trial team against their Australian counterparts.

The four man team and dogs competed for the Wayleggo Cup in Hawkesbury near Sydney.

The team have now won the tournament five consecutive years.

Manager Graham White said the team did the country proud.

"We had two new competitors this year, and they performed really well," he said.

"Wearing the New Zealand blazer is a big hounor," said Mr White.

He believes more time spent on the farm is behind the team's success.

"Most of the Australian's just do dog trials, while our dogs are out doing stock work every day," he said.

The team consisted of Graeme Brier and Sumo, Andy Clark and Girl, Mark Copland and Zoe, and Guy Peacock and Chief.

The Wayleggo Cup compeition will be held in New Zealand next year.
