'It went bonkers': NZ singer Ciaran McMeekan shares cute story behind mum's viral Twitter post

New Zealand artist Ciaran McMeekan has shared the story behind a Twitter post from his Mum which became a huge social media hit.

The Arrowtown-based singer-songwriter joined RadioLIVE's Rural Exchange team to perform his new single 'Pure Intentions', and chat about his move to the US next year.

He explained that he is not the only member of the family who has a fan following.

"A couple of months ago, a wild piglet turned up on my uncle's farm, and befriended a ram," he said.

McMeekan is hopeful his move to the US will be as sucessful as his mum's tweet.

"It's great here in New Zealand, but I just feel ready for the move," he said.

He'll be basing himself in Austin, Texas.

"It has an awesome live music scene there, and is very cool and vibrant."
