Man seriously injured after bull attack

A Canterbury man has serious injuries after being attacked by a bull at a property in Ashburton.

The injured man was flown to Christchurch Hospital after the attack on Fords Road in Tinwald yesterday.

It's understood the property was a lifestyle block.

The incident follows the death of a man after a bull attack on a North Canterbury farm in October.

At the time President of Federated Farmers North Canterbury Cameron Henderson, who farms in the area at Oxford, said the tragedy was unusual.

"It is incredibly rare to have a death by cattlebeast in New Zealand," he said.
