"Support those around you': Farming group's message of sympathy after Christchurch terror attack

A New Zealand farming group has joined those sending sympathy to those affected by Friday's terror attack in Christchurch.

The Federated Farmers Arable Industry Group is one of six industry groups within the national organisation, and represents the interests of arable farmers.

In an emotional post on Facebook, the group's chairperson Karen Williams said it was with a heavy heart that she was posting her message.

"It's usually about the challenges we face as an agricultural industry, or more specifically the arable industry, but today I want to extend my sympathies to those affected by the tragedy in Christchurch," she said.

"New Zealand is in shock, and Christchurch again affected by traumatic events. Support those around you with love, kindness and compassion."
