Former MP appointed to Pāmu board

Former MP Doug Woolerton has joined the board of state owned enterprise, Pāmu, formerly Landcorp Farming.

Woolerton formed New Zealand First with Winston Peters in 1992 and was an MP for 12 years.

He grew up on a family farm in the Waikato and currently runs a consultancy business, and previously served for 10 years on the board of a cooperative dairy company.

Pāmu has also farewelled directors David Nelson and John Brakenridge, whose terms have expired.

Pāmu Chairman Warren Parker thanked them for their combined 14 years of service to the company.

"John and David have both served on the board through a period of great change," he said.

"Their commitment to Pāmu and their strong agriculture sector backgrounds, and commitment to good governance, have been invaluable," said Parker.

He said he was delighted to welcome Doug Woolerton to the board and looking forward to working with him.
