The wife of an Australian farmer involved in an horrific farm accident, has revealed the heartbreaking message he gave to her, preparing to say goodbye.

Queensland farmer, Gavin Boekel, fell into an auger grain machine on the family's farm in Coleyville on May 14th.

Suffering severe injuries, he called his wife, believing it would be the last time they would speak.

Rachelle Boekel told the Gatton Star that she feared it was her husband's 'final call' after his legs were trapped by the blades of a grain machine.

"He said 'I'm stuck, I love you - thank you for being the mother of my children'," said Boekel.

Bleeding profusely, he was trapped in grain auger machine for three hours.

One leg was severed below the knee and the other crushed.  He broke his back in seven places and cracked his pelvis.

He was rescued by emergency services and was operated on for 19 hours.

The father of five, remains in critical condition, and on life-support.

A GoFundMe public fundraising campaign has been launched to help support the family, including helping them to rent a property close to the hospital where Boekel will require treatment for up to two years.

In April a US farmer also suffered an horrific farm accident involving an auger grain machine.

He was forced to  amputate his own leg with a pocket knife after getting caught in the blades.
